Dr. Weaver joined Eye Associates of Tallahassee in1990; he was born in Orlando, Florida, raised in Austin, Texas and speaks passable Spanish. He attended Texas A&M University on a full academic scholarship and was honored as the Outstanding Student in the College of Science. He graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 1986 and completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.
He has worked with the World Lens Project flying into disadvantaged countries to perform eye surgery. He also participates in Children's Medical Services, Blind Services, Knight's Templar, Lion's Eye and We Care.
Dr. Weaver has been listed in the Best of Tallahassee edition of Tallahassee Magazine, has served as President of Capital Medical Society, House Delegate for the Florida Medical Association and is a Clinical Professor for the FSU School of Medicine.
He participates in the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, AMA, FMA, and the Florida Ophthalmology Society. He is also a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Weaver has a special interest in “No Stitch, No Shot, No Patch Cataract Surgery” with high tech implants, being the first doctor in this part of the country to be certified in the Crystalens. He is also a Laser Vision Gold Surgeon and is Wave Front certified. He was one of the first ophthalmologists in the country to implant Bio Eyes, artificial eye implants that move naturally.
Dr. Weaver is married with two active boys and one smart dog.
